Privacy Policy
How MeldZee collects, uses, and protects information in MeldPlay — based on how the product actually works today.
Last updated: August 16, 2026Effective: August 16, 2026
This Privacy Policy applies to the MeldPlay Android app (com.meldplay) and related MeldPlay online services operated by MeldZee. For questions, email info@meldzee.com.
1. Introduction
Welcome to MeldPlay. Your privacy matters to us. This Privacy Policy explains how MeldZee (“MeldZee,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects information when you use the MeldPlay mobile application (package ID: com.meldplay), related websites (including meldplay.meldzee.com), and related online services (together, the “Services”).
By creating an account, signing in, or otherwise using the Services, you acknowledge this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.
2. Who we are
MeldPlay is operated by MeldZee. MeldPlay is an Android community product where creators can publish closed tests, live apps, websites, and posts, and where early users can discover builds, provide feedback, and participate in Leaves reward features.
For privacy questions or requests, contact us at info@meldzee.com or visit https://meldzee.com.
3. Scope of this policy
This policy applies to information processed through the MeldPlay Android app and the MeldPlay marketing/support website. It does not cover third-party websites, apps, or services that we do not control — including Google Play listings you open, Google Groups you join for closed testing, or websites creators submit for timed testing inside MeldPlay’s in-app browser.
4. Information we collect
We collect information in three main ways: (a) information you provide, (b) information generated by your use of the Services, and (c) information from third-party sign-in providers you choose to connect. The Android app uses Firebase / Google Analytics to understand usage (screens, login, guest browsing, likes, comments, and testing). We do not use an advertising SDK.
4.1 Account and profile information
If you create or use a MeldPlay account, we process information such as:
- Email address and password (for email registration and sign-in)
- Username and display name (including developer/display name used on listings)
- Optional first name and last name
- Gender (when you choose to provide it during onboarding or profile editing)
- Optional birthday and country (when provided to help personalize your experience)
- Selected interests and free-text “other interests”
- Profile photo (uploaded image or a selected default avatar) and optional bio/additional profile text
- Account status fields returned by our systems (for example email verification status, sign-in provider, Google Group join status, and Leaves/coin balances)
4.2 Google Sign-In
If you choose “Continue with Google,” Google authenticates you and MeldPlay receives a Google ID token that we send to our servers to create or sign in to your account. Google’s processing of your Google Account is governed by Google’s own privacy policy. We use Google Sign-In for authentication — not for advertising.
4.3 Guest browsing
You may browse some public community content in guest mode without creating an account. Guest mode does not create a full user profile with us, but you may still load public content from our servers. Features that require an account (publishing, testing workflows, Leaves actions, profile, and similar) are unavailable until you sign in.
4.4 User-generated content and community activity
When you use community features, we process content and activity you submit or generate, including:
- Posts, comments, likes, and related engagement
- App listings (such as name, Play Store URL, package name, description, category, developer name, icon/image, campaign/boost settings, and reserved Leaves)
- Website listings (such as name, URL, description, image, tester pool settings, and reserved Leaves)
- Testing activity (for example starting a test, marking install/review steps, comments, and daily screenshot/proof uploads)
- Creator-facing performance metrics we calculate for your listings (such as impressions, likes, installs, or similar in-product analytics dashboards)
4.5 Leaves, rewards, and promotions
MeldPlay uses Leaves (in-community balances such as free and private coin balances) for rewards, reserved tester incentives, boosts, token gifts, and related community mechanics. We process transaction and balance information needed to operate these features. Paid Leaf packages / in-app purchases may be introduced later; if that happens, this policy (and any store disclosures) will be updated.
4.6 Device, technical, and security information
To operate and secure the Services, we process limited technical information, such as:
- App version and build number (for update and compatibility checks)
- Client platform indicators (for example that a request comes from the mobile app)
- Authentication tokens and session data needed to keep you signed in
- Standard server logs that may include IP address, timestamps, and request metadata when you communicate with our APIs
We do not currently collect advertising IDs (such as GAID/IDFA) for ads, and advertising ID collection for Analytics is disabled. We do not operate push-notification token collection (FCM/APNs) in the current app build. Android permissions used for product features may include Internet access and photo/media access for profile images, listing images, and testing screenshots. Camera permission may be present for image workflows; location is not a core MeldPlay feature.
4.7 Information stored on your device
The app stores certain data locally on your device (for example using on-device storage) to keep you signed in, remember preferences (such as theme), support onboarding drafts, remember pending tester actions, and — if you choose “remember me” / saved accounts — store account credentials locally for quicker sign-in. Locally saved credentials remain on your device until you clear them or uninstall/clear app data.
4.8 Firebase / Google Analytics
The Android app uses Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase) to measure how people use MeldPlay. This includes automatic signals such as first open, sessions, app version, device model/OS, and country (typically derived from IP), plus events we send for screens visited, login, guest mode, likes, comments, and starting a test. We identify signed-in users in Analytics with an internal user ID only — we do not send email addresses, names, or authentication tokens to Analytics. There is no advertising SDK in the app.
4.9 Information we do not currently collect via third-party trackers
- No third-party advertising networks in the current mobile app
- No Crashlytics integration in the current mobile app
- No contacts upload or continuous location tracking as a product feature
5. How we use information
We use information to:
- Create and manage accounts, authenticate users, and provide guest or signed-in experiences
- Operate community features: discovery, listings, posts, comments, likes, testing workflows, and Leaves
- Show your public profile details and listing information to other users as part of the product
- Provide creator dashboards and in-product performance metrics for content you publish
- Communicate about the Services (for example account, security, or product notices)
- Maintain security, prevent abuse, enforce policies, and troubleshoot issues
- Improve product reliability, compatibility, and user experience
- Understand app usage through Firebase / Google Analytics (screens visited and actions such as login, guest browsing, likes, comments, and testing)
- Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests
6. How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share information only as needed to run MeldPlay:
- With other users: profile details and user-generated content you choose to publish or submit in community contexts (for example listings, posts, comments, display names, avatars) may be visible to others, including guests where public endpoints apply
- With service providers / infrastructure: our hosting and backend systems that process API traffic and store account/community data on our behalf
- With Google: when you use Google Sign-In; when you open Google Play; when you join the MeldPlay community Google Group for closed testing (groups.google.com / meldplay-community); and when the Android app sends usage events to Firebase / Google Analytics. Google’s terms and privacy policy apply to those Google services
- With websites you open in testing flows: if you visit a creator’s website through MeldPlay’s browser/testing tools, that website may collect data under its own policy
- For legal and safety reasons: if required by law, regulation, legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and integrity of users, MeldZee, or the public
- Business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, reorganization, or asset transfer, information may be transferred as part of that transaction subject to continuing confidentiality and privacy commitments
7. Public information and closed testing
MeldPlay is a community product. Content you publish can be seen by other people. Closed-test participation may also require joining our Google Group and following Google Play testing rules. Do not upload screenshots, posts, or comments that contain other people’s personal data, secrets, or unlawful content.
8. Data retention
We retain account, profile, and community content for as long as your account remains active and as needed to provide the Services, resolve disputes, enforce agreements, and meet legal, security, and operational requirements. If you ask us to delete your account or specific data, we will review the request and delete or anonymize information where we can, except where we must retain it (for example legal compliance, fraud prevention, or backup integrity). Some publicly shared content may remain visible in limited form if other users still need historical context, or may be removed according to our moderation and retention practices.
9. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information we process (including encrypted transport to our APIs via HTTPS and access controls on our systems). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Please use a strong unique password, protect your device, and be careful with locally saved credentials if you enable account remembering.
10. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, update, delete, or restrict certain personal data, or to object to certain processing. Within MeldPlay you can typically:
- View and update profile information in the app
- Control what you publish (posts, listings, comments, images)
- Sign out, clear local app data, or uninstall the app
- Contact us to request account or data assistance
To make a privacy request, email info@meldzee.com with the subject “Privacy Request” and enough detail for us to verify and process your request. We may need to confirm your identity before fulfilling certain requests.
11. Children’s privacy
MeldPlay is intended for a general audience of creators and early users of Android software and is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum digital consent age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under that age. Birthday may be collected as an optional profile field and is not currently used as an age-gate. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
12. International processing
We may process and store information on servers and with providers that are not in your country of residence. If you use MeldPlay from outside the country where our systems operate, you understand that your information may be transferred across borders to provide the Services.
13. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as MeldPlay evolves (for example if we add account features, analytics, payments, notifications, or new integrations). When we make material changes, we will update the “Last updated” date on this page and may provide additional notice in-app or on the website where appropriate. Continued use of the Services after an update means you accept the revised policy.
